		       Commodore Computer Files
			    (C64 and C128)
		       As of December 31, 1999)

		      From the download areas of

			221B Baker Street BBS
		    Fort Walton Beach, Florida USA
		  ----------------------------------

This file area is from the CD created by Jim Young, the sysop of 221B
Baker Street BBS in Florida, USA. Jim Young has long been a behind the
scenes supporter of Commodore and other 8-bit users and we are very
glad to be able to have a small part of his BBS within our FTP site,
but saddened to know there's another BBS that's no longer online.

Many may not know, but the romance between Rod and I started as a
direct result of us both phoning 221BBS to share private messages with
each other. We're **VERY** grateful Jim didn't choose to archive THOSE
messages within this CD!! :-)

The file "index.txt" lists all files in this area, along with
descriptions and even who uploaded the files. Each directory holds a
file named FILES.BBS that also lists the files within the directory,
with descriptions.

The text below is from the back of the CD:
	  -------------------------------------------------

I started "221B Baker Street" BBS in August 1987 in Fort Walton Beach,
Florida and named it for the address where Sherlock Holmes and
Dr. Watson lived in London. Commodore and other 8-bit computers were
supported from the beginning with message areas and file download
areas. Times change, however, and the Internet lured away most of the
folks who had called 221BBS (and other BBSs as well). The computers I
was using for 221BBS were older 80486 machines and were not compatible
with the Year 2000 date structure, so I decided to take 221BBS offline
on December 31, 1999.

This CD contains the Commodore related files (including some CPM files
for the C128) that were on 221BBS when I shut it down. I saved these
files in case some folks in the Commodore community might still have a
use or need for them and also to archive a significant and fun part of
my life.

Best wishes to all Commodore folks everywhere!

               Regards,
Jim Young, Sysop, 221B Baker Street
