It is a Commodore-64 program for use with a 1750 REU (RAM Expansion Unit). The 1750 was sold by CBM for use with a C-128; its BASIC 7.0 offers the STASH, SWAP, and FETCH commands. The 1750 uses DRAM IC's, which draw considerable current. The REU should not be used with a C-64, unless a heavy-duty power supply is also used. But with a beefy PS, the 1750 works just fine with a C-64. Although the SWAP, FETCH, and STASH commands are absent. RAMDOS may be used with a C-64/1750, to give the REU a device number for saving and loading programs. But RAMDOS occupies computer memory starting at address 25344 ($6300), and is overwritten by many BASIC programs. This program gives you another way to use the 1750 with a C-64. A one-block disk file is written; you can use it to store up to eight BASIC programs in the REU. Each program may extend up to address 40959 ($9FFF). To load the programs back into computer memory, just load the one-blocker "filename",d,8. Don't do a run; just loading does the job. Then press from F1 to F8 to select one of the eight programs (using the list that you hopefully compiled when you stored them). Documentation included with program.
