The file must be unZIPped before using. If you want to unZIP it on a C-64, use Errol Smith's "Unzip64" (NOT Bill Lucier's "Unzip64, which doesn't handle PKZIP version 2 files). The doc file ("RAMCHECK.DOX") is in true ASCII, but a PETASCII file reader may be used if you don't mind capitals and lowercase interchanged. The executable ("RAMCHECK.BIN") checks all 65534 bytes of RAM. The program must be loaded "filename",N,1 (where "N" is the device number, usually 8). After a few seconds, you should see a display of the number of bad bits for each of the eight data bus lines. The table in the doc file may be used to help identify any defective RAM IC's.
